Meet Angie Bedolla
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Angie has spent her career bringing parties together. This work has improved communities, forged strong relationships, and helped businesses of all sizes thrive.
Since 2015, Angie has worked directly on economic development in her positions with both Adams County Economic Development, Xcel Energy, and now works for CORE Electric Cooperative. These roles have equipped Angie with the valuable experience and knowledge needed to support private industry job creators to effectively locate or re-locate their businesses into communities like Thornton. She believes from experience that when good companies and the local community work together, great things happen. And Angie wants to use this experience to benefit Thornton.
Angie’s experience in managing certified and verified site real estate programs, advocating for redevelopment (including Thornton Shopping Center), analyzing companies and industries, and business retention is critical in ensuring Thornton continues to thrive.
Angie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management while working and raising her two daughters. She also participated in the 2019-2020 Adams 12 Leadership Academy where she learned about educational policies, actions, and financials. She also completed Impact Denver where she worked with others on a community project for an organization in the Metro area. Angie finds these leadership opportunities exciting as she thrives off of helping businesses and communities overcome challenges to become stronger.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Angie was appointed to serve on Thornton’s City Council in February 2020. As councilwoman, Angie got to work right away. She greatly enjoys being a voice for her constituents and working alongside the rest of City Council to support efforts that build a healthy and thriving community. She advocates for sustainability efforts, transportation improvements, redevelopment, and the ongoing need to attract and retain primary employment and high paying jobs to our community. Angie is a believer in working collaboratively to bring resources together that will help our community.
Angie has always had a passion for giving back to our community. Currently, she serves on boards and committees for multiple Chamber and Economic Development Organizations including the Business Advocacy and Public Policy committee, Development Council, and Leadership Circle for Adams County Regional Economic Partnership. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, and on her Church’s Board where she also co-led the Women’s Ministry Executive Team. Angie has also enjoyed working with and mentoring young women by coaching multiple volleyball teams through the YMCA.
